There are women you meet who make you believe in providence. Our mother is one of them. This August, we gather to celebrate sixty years of her light.

A note from her children
There are women you meet in this life who make you believe in providence. Our mother is one of them. She raised four children while building a career that outpaced most of the rooms she walked into, and she did it while never once making any of us feel like second place.
In Lagos, and everywhere she has ever put down a plate, she has carried her family, her friends, and everyone lucky enough to sit at her table. She has fed people, prayed for people, laughed with people, and told the truth when nobody else would.
This August, we want to fill a room with the people who have loved her back. If you are reading this, you are one of them.
Come. Wear something that feels like you. Bring your appetite and your dancing shoes.
Much love,
Her children
Three chapters. A lifetime of becoming.

Chapter I
Four children, and a house that was always the loudest and warmest one on the street. She raised us with a patience we only understood once we started raising our own.

Chapter II
A career that outpaced most of the rooms she walked into. Built quietly, and never at the cost of the people she loved.

Chapter III
Grandchildren. Grown children. Friends of forty years. A life still unfolding, and a laugh that fills every room she enters.

One evening. One room. Everyone she loves.
